We all have them. Some of us have 15 of them, while other’s remain conservative with just one… but nonetheless, we have them- Dream Jobs. The ideal career that we envision ourselves in. The job that is so utterly amazing that it deserves it’s own reality show on the Bravo channel just to showcase it’s glitz and glamour. That dream job.
Now, whether or not we actually get to live out this dream is never certain…. but there are many things in life that aren’t certain, right? So I say…. go for it! Buy the plane ticket, take the job (or leave it), open the door and walk through it, and mostly importantly, buy the shoes! You’ll never know where the path will lead unless you take the first step and begin to walk it – this is where the shoes come into play, you’ll obviously need a great pair! For walking purposes, naturally 😉 – so take the leap and keep the faith.
When I first began Photography in April of 2012 I had no idea where the journey would lead, or if there would even be a journey. But I made a vow to try! I figured that failing would be an easier pain to overcome than regret…. regret of never knowing what would have happened if I would have just bought a camera and went for it. Now, almost 2 years later I can profess that the journey couldn’t have been better. It’s been wonderful, it’s been hard, it’s been exhausting, it’s been exhilarating, it’s been full of tears and lessons, it’s brought happy dances, it’s brought new friendships, it’s been full of opportunities….. but the biggest joy is that it HAS BEEN. It happened. After months of prayer, hope, and faith that dreams can come true there are no regrets. And that, my dears, is the best feeling!
I’ll admit that I’m one of those free souls that falls into the “have more than one dream job” category. Yes, the 7 year old that wanted to be an Ice Capades Figure Skater, a Teacher, a Lawyer, a Fashion Designer, A Professional Nail Polish Painter and a Baker is still very much wanting to do it all even now at 27 years old…. with a more realistic take of course. I mean, the kitchen hasn’t really been by friend these days so I’ll cross off “Baker” from the list. The rest are definitely still attainable options 😉
With this new Wedding & Lifestyle brand comes a new adventure and path and I’m brought back to that place where I stood on that April of 2012…. excited, nervous but ready! Ready to work hard, have faith and believe that this too will be another dream that happened. It will happen. And that right there calls for a new pair of shoes 😉
What’s your dream job? What do you see yourself doing in life? A cupcake shop owner? A graphic designer? A musician? Whatever it is, I encourage you to do one thing this week that gets you closer to your goal. Put your best fashionable foot forward and simply begin! Never underestimate the power behind prayer and faith….. it can be done! So do it! And stick around to follow our journey, we’ll be walking the path right along with you 😉
